My First Popfly

Microsoft® Popfly™ is the fun, easy way to build and share mashups, gadgets, games, Web pages, and applications.

The words under the flag are 'Good Morning' in the language of that country.

This is my first Popfly. It works by taking an RSS feed from my website of 'Good Morning' in different languages. Looks up the flag of the country and send both pieces of information to the image counsel. Simple!

I have taken this a step further and my RSS feed now outputs the follow;

• 'Good Morning'
• The Language
• The Country
• The Flag
• The Continent
• A map of that continent
• The size of that continent

Why?

This came about following a conversation at a recent Fronter training. While looking at embedding RSS feeds into the MLE's virtual classroom. My colleague, a teacher, was having difficulties seeing the potential such a facility could have beyond News Headlines. Following further discussion surrounding what was available, I thought I would be able to find a feed which would allow her to say good morning in a different language each day. So sure I foolishly said if I couldn't I would make one - I didn't find one!
